Hot off the stove! — The story of our American kitchen, in Sweden!
Are you interested in an American in Sweden sharing recipes and stories of food from around the world? Then the “Lost In A Pot” food and life blog is for you!
So Join Us HERE
Want to learn more about us! Read on.
We’ll be posting Scandinavian recipes adapted to the North American kitchen, as well as North American recipes adapted for our friends, family and readers in Sweden. We hope to interact with our readers with recipe comments, ratings, as well as exchanging recipes for us to cook here in Sweden and for you at home.
We believe life is too precious not to slow down and smell what’s cooking, so we’ll be laid back and hopefully a bit humorous along the way as we write and post in our blog.
In the coming weeks, months and years, we hope to bring you series of themed recipes and experiences from places traveled over the past years. Additionally, we have plans to do a series on Scandinavian food trucks and specialty food markets. Plans are also in the works for a holiday post on Scandinavian Julmarknad (Christmas market) and all the market’s foods and drinks.

Now, “Lost In A Pot”??? What the heck! Many years ago and when I (Ron) was a very little boy, I love to stir the pot cooking on the stove and would get lost in the smell and beauty of what was cooking. My Grandma (Mormor for my Swedish friends) used to say, “Ronnie Ray, one day your’a gunna get lost looking in that pot ”. I did get lost in a wonderful blessed life thus far. Along the way I have loved food, cooking and all things about food since.
For the past numbers of years I (Ron) traveled throughout the world, working and eating my way through seven continents and too many countries to remember. Now, I wasn’t traveling in the Hi-Tech, fast pace, blingy city way. No, my business took me to the obscure, not so well traveled and sometimes scary places, resulting in the experience of different cultures, foods and flavors (and yes smells too!), in fancy restaurants and street dives. But, as it always happens my time of corporate global travels has come to an end. No more biz class flights and 4-star hotels on the company expenses. RETIREMENT!!! Or so it seems, still trying to feel retired.
At any rate I have been thinking of this blog since before blogs were around. So in late 2016 we began.
I’m Ron and will be the crazy male food blogger cooking, traveling and photographing my way through retirement. I’m not a trained chef, but have trained a couple and love to cook. Didn’t take writing at university, but can build stuff like crazy. Took photography many years ago, but digital is another world.
Eva is also our translator and the love of my life. She is Swedish, having life in North America for 24 years prior to returning home (with me) the summer of 2016. She is also a fantastic cook and will be contributing here take on simple dishes from time to time.
Lastly, Chloe our 5-year-old English Springer Spaniel is our kitchen manager and the official “Lost In A Pot” taster as well as being in charge of security. Clo girl spends many hours observing me in the kitchen, hoping for a dropped taste, as well as sleeping hours away in the studio.
SO COME ON IN AND LETS SHARE OUR COOKING AND EXPERIENCES.
So Join Us HERE. We will never ever share your email – Promise.
