You know Eva it’s not so hard to smoke cheese and the results are very satisfying to both one’s pride and taste buds. I’ll be smoking about 5 kg next week that will be given, along with smoked nuts, and homemade crispbread (I will post it tomorrow)to friends and family for Christmas. Thanks for stopping by.

Ha ha, that is so true!
I saw those rings on eBay – they look very good, since sometimes a bisquette has only started burning, when the smoking is finished. Those Swedish pucks sound good – I’ve wondered about making them myself. Thanks for the info!

Mad Dog, Bradley is like HP printers. The units are reasonable, but the refills are expensive. I’m using a special made (in the UK) ring that you use at the end of a smoke so you don’t have to sacrifice a puck at the end of the smoke. These are the ones I use.
We have a Swedish made smoking pucks that are lower in price then Bradley. I’ve just ordered some to try so I can’t say how they are. I don’t know if you can get them in the UK, but here’s their site. http://www.grevensbriketter.se/en.aspx

Hi Sharon and welcome to the blog. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit. I know those wonderful Oregon mussels well as we lived in the PNW for years. In fact, my daughter and two grandkids live in the Corvallis area. I haven’t tried smoked carrots but I will soon. Thanks for coming by and we hope to see you around…

We actually live in Las Vegas and have a second home at the Oregon coast to avoid summer in Nevada. My paternal grandparents from Sweden settled in the PNW. Beautiful country. I loved Sweden when we visited. It is very much like the PNW. Goint to try smoking cheese very soon.

I meant to ask – have you found an alternative to the Bradley bisquettes? I was using a similar model to yours and they are very expensive in comparison to sawdust and logs.

It was fun, Kelly. I’ve had a lot of great smoked things lately, but cheese and meatballs are at the top of the list. Wait, also chicken wings and salmon. The knäckebröd post is in the works and not only is it a very tasty recipe it’s easy to make. Thanks for taking the time to have a read…
