Suja, Thanks for taking time to read and comment. I know you will enjoy the Mormor’s Meatballs and don’t forget the potatoes.

Meatballs are very tempting. We make something similar to this version, except the broth and potato flour. Next time, I try adding potato flour for the texture. And soy with cream for the gravy must be an awesome combo. Will try this too.

Both the story and the theory. Still. This Swedish Meatballs recipe with a provenance is going into my files. GREG

Indeed, I was slightly inebriated whilst that photo was taken. But, later in the late evening I was ripped, so much so I ended up in a Chinese hospital with alcohol poisoning. I wouldn’t recommend it.
As for the recipe, it’s the classic Swedish meatball recipe. Hope you give it a try.

That picture of you and your Chinese colleagues – you do look drunk … but what a feast! That table looks like quite a wonderful meal. I love the meatball history, and this looks like an incredible recipe. Thanks!

I’m more a ketchup on the meatball as opposed to sauce on the meatball type of guy. I think the sauce just mucks up the flavor of the meatballs. But, the Swedes do like their cream sauces and sometime so do I. Thanks so much for the clarification, it will be so noted in the post. Chloe also is not a fan of the sauce. Thanks so much for your comments.

Bill, your grandmother was likely on to something regarding the origin of the meatball. I’m still not buying the Chinese theory.
Thanks for the tip regarding the food processor. It think it would work well if not over processed.
