It came to me, during my ongoing recovery, that Lost in a Pot had its four-year blogiversary this past December 27th.

So, my friends, I’ve selected my favorite four posts from over the past four years for you to view. Now, I got to tell you, it was a bit of a chore deciding which four. But, I did indeed come up with four to share with you today. Oh, and I’ll also be sharing my most visited post of all time as well as our favorite Chloe image. So, with no further ado, here we go.
Posts of the four seasons…
My four favorite posts will be list below, by season, not by date of posting. Some of the posts have been tweaked a bit and some have been left as is. So, just glance through, or if you have time click in and read each of the posts. You’ll be able to jump to each post by clicking on the title, post image, or HERE.
The rapeseed fields of Skåne and a Swedish salad…
This is my favorite spring and rapeseed field post. You see I love the rapeseed fields in early May, as it’s a time of the year when all of nature is once again coming to life here in Southern Skåne. In this post, you’ll also find an awesome recipe for Swedish-style rhubarb salad. So, jump in and enjoy this spring inspiration HERE.
Oh, what a Summer!
OK, I love all of these posts, but this one is my absolute favorite without a doubt. For those of you who haven’t read this one or have and wish to read again just click in HERE.
A Forest in Billinge and Jägargryta…
I think of all the post that I’ve written, this one was my favorite to write. The forest has always inspired me and this day was a magical inspiration for me. Also, you get my “company best” fall stew recipe. If you love a day in the forrest as I do, you’re going to enjoy these Swedish forest fall days. Come on and have a read, just click in HERE.
Ham, herring and merry…The Swedish Julbord
How could I pull these post together and not include one showcasing the Swedish Jul (Christmas) season. Not only was this post my second most viewed post, but also my favorite holiday season post from the past four years. Eva also shares her thoughts on a Swedish Christmas and a favorite holiday recipe with you. So come on in and enjoy Christmas in Sweden, just click HERE.
And the winner is…
My number one most visited page was posted back in early 2017 and was actually one of my easier posts to put together. Likely because it’s all about one of my all-time favorite recipes. You say how popular is it? It’s been visited over 16,000 times in the last twelve months. I guess I got all the Google matrix stuff right on this one. I say that as it’s be viewed six times more than my second most viewed post.
So, what post is it? Well to find out, you’ll just have to click HERE!…
And, we can’t forget our favorite posted image of Chloe dog.

Eva and I unanimously agreed that this was the one we loved the most. It appeared in our November 2018 post titled Mårtensafton’s Goose and Lammstek med färska kryddor och rödvinssås…

It’s good to have you posting again – we are looking forward to more!
Chloe looks like she’s about to collect her PhD certificate.
Thanks MD, it’s good to be back. Well, Eva would attest to the fact that indeed Chloe is Ph.D. material, but I think she would snooze in class too much…
Happy to see that you’re well enough to post again, Ron! These are all lovely posts, and I can definitely see why your ragout one was the most visited. I bet that flavorful lamb melts in your mouth, and what better accompaniment than pasta!
I don’t think that Chloe can take bad pictures, but this one super cute indeed.
Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks Jas, I’m not sure when or what I’ll be posting on next, but that will sort itself out.
You know I first made the ragout dish in 2004 and it’s been a family favorite ever since. Especially with homemade pasta. Take care and be safe over your way…
Hiya Ron, glad you feeling a bit better to put up a post. Take your time. 4 years is quite the accomplishment and I bet blogging will help you get back on your feet quicker. Your fans need you! Stay well and think positive.
Bobbi, it’s good to be back, even if it is in a limited capacity. My mind is already thinking of different things I might post on. Thanks so much for your kind comments and support…
Wish we lived closer so we could bring some meals your way. Recovery takes time but keep at it each and every day to get stronger. You can do it!
I am glad you are feeling well enough to blog . I love your ragout, especially with wild meat . I am a big rhubarb fan . Take good care of yourself!
It’s good to be feeling a bit better Gerlinde. The ragout is very good with wild game or some nice lamb, pork, or even beef. But, for my taste, I’d go for wild boar any day. Thanks for stopping by.
It’s great that you are feeling better now. Happy Blogiversary!! Chloe is such a beauty :-))
Thanks, Angie, it’s good to be improving. Take care down your way…
Happy blog anniversary! 🙂
Thanks, Ronit…
I remember 3 of the 4 posts you listed. The rapeseed fields are so cheerful! Congratulations on 4 years of blogging – your stories, recipes and history are always so interesting. Good to see you back – I’m surprised the picture of Chloe isn’t one where she’s either eating, staring or commenting on food 🙂
The rapeseed fields are a sure sign of the summer to come here. Last year we were surrounded by the blossoming fields, but this year we’ll be surrounded by winter wheat and sugar beets. Luckily it’s a short drive to be in the fields.
Thanks for the congrats and for reading my posts…
Family, food, photos, dogs …all the best things in life. Thank you for sharing it all with us. Hope you are on the mend, Ron.
Laura from Minnesota
Thanks, Laura! You’re so correct, life isn’t correct without family, food, friends, and dogs…
Delighted to be able to wish you the best and be able to say thank you on the occasion of your fourth blog anniversary ! Having been there for the duration I largely share your favourite posts. Perchance my favourite was that of your children’s and grandchildren’s visit from the States – you know I quite fell in love with Seamus !!! And since I rarely eat European food these days the description of a sumptious smorgasbord surely brought forth atavistic feelings as did the rapeseed fields of Skane County. The only smile perchance arose seeing lightning striking the Oresund bridge . . . you would hate the summer storms upon the Sydney Basin . . . good to see all this . . . now look after yourself and slowly bounce back to write of new discoveries on the land of the Vikings . . . best . . .
Thanks, Eha! You are indeed a friend who has seen me through those four years.
I was once in Queensland for one of your famous summer storms. It was quite a thrill and took me back to the coastal storms of my Texas youth.
Seamus is growing like crazy and becoming quite the young man. We try to chat via WhatsApp weekly and he always amazes me with his antics. Our other two grandkids, Bodhi and Lila are getting into their teenage years and becoming very involved in their life (as they should).
At this point, I only pray for the Covid vaccine soon so we can yet explore and share more of this Viking land…
Excellent to see you back in the culinary saddle Ron. The forrest stew is my favourite.
Thanks, Conor. It’s good to be somewhat back in the saddle. The forest stew is indeed a good one…
Happy blogiversary! I haven’t been reading you all four years, so I need to go back and catch up with the posts I’ve missed. Glad you’re on the mend. Lovely photo of Chole. 🙂
Thanks, John! I hope you enjoy the previous post. I pass on the compliment to Chloe dog…
Hi Ron. I noticed that I accidentally posted my comment for this post on your Lamb Ragout post, where I’ve also left an additional comment. 🙂 Here’s the one that was meant for this one:
Ron, first of all, I hope you’re feeling better and stronger each day. Second, I’m really love this collection, especially since I don’t think I’d ever seen you Lamb Ragout, which sounds incredible! And Chloe’s photo is perfect — must be her modeling head shot. 😉 Here’s to many more years of delicious food, travels, history, adorable Chloe pics, etc. 🙂 ~Valentina
Thanks, Valentina, I am feeling better and hoping to get back to cooking and writing soon. I*ll pass the “modeling headshot” comment on to Chloe’s agent (Eva). Take care over your way…
So glad to see you back Ron ! I wish you recover completely as soon as possible so we could discover new places with your guidance !
It’s good to be back, even if it’s just part-time. I’m sure hoping to be able to discover those new places and share them with you…
Some super interesting posts there, Ron, and I am loving the selection you’ve chosen. Congratulations on four years of blogging, what an achievement! And I am not surprised to see the slow cooked ragout as the most visited post – I am honestly drooling over your photos, it looks and sounds so delicious. I hope your recovery is going well!
Katerina, thanks so much for your good wishes. Oh, please do try the ragout, it’s a wonderful dish. Take care down your way…
Congrats on your four year blogiversary! That’s quite the achievement. I hope you keep going for *at least* another four. Always enjoy your glimpses into Swedish cookery and culture, about which I know precious little.
And yes, I’m not surprised that your cute pooch took first prize. But actually, I’m often surprised myself which of my posts get the most traffic.Often it’s the “throwaway” post that I did on the fly, while the one I slowly developed with care goes relatively unnoticed. That’s the blogging world for you…
Thanks for the kind words Frank, well I don’t know about another four years, but hope to get another one in…
Nice to hear back from you, wishing you well on your full recovery and happy anniversary
Thanks, Raymund, it’s good to be back even if it’s not at full speed yet…
ah chloe is gorgeous. such a sweet photo. Love the rapeseed fields photo; they’re very PC here and call them canola. Huh! how silly is that. isn’t that lightning strike amazing? Hope you’re feeling well. and congrats on your 4th blogiversary. long may it continue.
cheers
sherry
Thanks, Sherry! We don’t get much lightning here, so the strike on the bridge was pretty spectacular. Old Clo girl loves having her picture taken and she is indeed photogenic.
You take care down your way…
Welcome back to the interwebs, Ron! I hope your recovery is going well. I always get excited when I see a new post on Lost in a Pot. As I was looking through your favorite posts, I started to think about how quickly time flies. I remember reading most of these posts when they were first published – I didn’t realize we had been virtual friends for so long! Congrats on the 4th anniversary, and here’s to many more to come! Truly I think several of those photos (the rapeseed fields one comes to mind) could be framed on the wall.
Thanks, David, I’m improving but still have a ways to go. The rapeseed images are some of my favorites. I think it was the “Beat Of The Brass ” album cover obyHerb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass that got me wanting to take pictures of rapeseed fields. Ok, now you can look it up to see what I mean. Time has flown my friend and I’ve been humbled to have you following me during this time.
Take care…
Congratulations, Ron! Although the ragu does look delicious, my favorite is the julbord. I was hoping to finally get a chance to attend one this winter, but … the damndemic.
Jeff the ragout is a dandy dish, but I’m with you as I’d go for the Julbord over the ragout any day! Hopefully, you’ll get to experience it next Jul season.
Thanks for the congrats and you guys stay safe over that way…
Ron, I miss you! Hope things are going well.
Thanks, Jeff! All is improving and you’ll hopefully see a new post in a few days…
Happy blogiversary, Ron! You picked four great posts to celebrate. I really enjoyed re-reading the story about Eva and crossing the ‘lightening bridge”! It’s always harder on the passenger, I think. I always feel more in control of things when I’m driving. I was happy to be reminded of your delicious salmon stew! Best wishes!
Hi Susan and thanks! I used to like to be the one driving as well, but I must say I’ve learned these days that being driven isn’t bad either. Take care…
A lovely look-back, and some new recipes for me. Thanks for the tour of your first four years – and for that gorgeous shot of Chloe.
David, thanks to you for having a read. Chloe girl does like having her picture taken. You guys take care over your way…
Congratulations on your four year anniversary! What a great achievement. I’ve enjoyed your blog so much and your travels. You’ve taking me places I’ll never be able to see myself and you’ve introduced me to foods that I’d never heard of but can enjoy in my own home provided I can find the ingredients, especially the fish. I have to say that I especially loved the rapeseed post.
Thanks for all of the time you’ve put into each post and sharing with us. It’s been very enjoyable and informative. I hope your recovery is going well and glad to see you were able to put together this post. Take care of yourself and keep improving!
Hi MJ, thanks for the kind words. I think four years is just a drop in the bucket compared to the ten-year blogiversary you just celebrated. I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to bring you over this way for a virtual visit with my posts.
I am improving, but it’s been a journey thus far. Stay safe over that way and enjoy some Southwestern food for me…
So glad you’re back! I love the four seasons approach you took. Four years and so well done! Hope you will continue to share your experiences with us (especially those of us who are still more or less homebound. A big nod of thanks to Eva and Chloe for their contributions!
Hi Angela! I’m working my way back to my new normal, whatever that ends up being. I must admit that for the past couple of months I have been debating about continuing my blog. But, kind comments such as yours truly inspire me to continue. So, there will be more to come, not to a schedule but when I’m inspired. And, more when I’m recovered and get out of my isolation and can travel once again.
Do take care over your way and thanks so much for stopping by…
You certainly did pick great posts to share for your blogging anniversary. Congratulations and I look forward to many more over the years to come. I had to smile at the rapeseed photo, I had one that I took during our travels in France that was my header photo when I first started my blog. So happy that you are feeling well enough to start posting again, you were definitely missed.
Hi Karen, we do so look forward to the rapes blooming. Last year was a perfect bloom as the wind held off until the end and we were able to enjoy walks by the fields for days. This year the blooming fields will be a bit further away, but we’ll still enjoy them. And yes, I plan to take my annual pictures. Thanks for stopping by…
It’s so good to “hear” your voice, Ron! I’ve read each of these beautiful posts before, and I know it just by the photos, they are so lovely! However, the lamb ragout post was new to me, but, strrangely, I think I’ve made that very recipe before – love a good Jamie Oliver recipe, and I believe it was my only cartouche-making adventure, too!
Hope you are feeling better every day, and I look forward to more posts from you!
Hi Laura, I must say the lamb ragout is one of my favorite Jamie recipes. I’ve made it stovetop, in the instant pot, and even slow cooked it in my outdoor smoker and it always tastes good.
Thanks so much for your kind words and for having a read…
Sorry I’ve been away from your blog thinking you stopped posting — silly me. Coming back to this plethora of posts was a bonus. I love them all, and especially want to try that lamb ragù with pasta. But the one with the rapeseed in bloom captured my heart. It so reminded me of passing fields like that in Italy and in California. The post on the lightening was great too. I love me a good lightening storm, as long as I’m not in it.Hope you are well.
Hi Linda, no worries there hasn’t been a lot of activity here. Actually, I was debating hanging up my blogger’s pen, but all the encouragement I’ve received has inspired me to continue.
My first experience in seeing blooming rapeseed fields was in Germany many years ago, I then experience them in Canada and now live amongst them in Sweden. I love the bloom although my sinuses can do without them. I actually wear a mask when around them. Then again, nowadays I wear a mask when I’m around anything…
Ron, I had been a bit overwhelmed and so didn’t get around to visiting you in December, so this is the first I heard about your “getaway” (very clever writing, that!). I’m glad you are on the mend and have had Chloe keeping an eye on you. Happy fourth blogiversary!
